RPM Pizza Buckles Up with the Jackson Teen Seatbelt Coalition

Team Members Mack Heidelberg, District Manager, Aimee Bradley, District Manager and Nicole Smith, are members of the Jackson Teen Seat Belt Coalition along with several other businesses and community leaders in Jackson. The goal of the Coalition is to increase knowledge, attitudes, and rates of seat belt usage among teens in Jackson. The target group is teens between 15 to 19 years of age. The coalition will work with the 8 high schools in the Jackson area: Callaway High, Lanier High, Murrah High, Bailey Magnet High, Provine High, Jim Hill High, Wingfield High and Forest Hill High. Mack Heidelberg told the press on August 23, 2007 that “We are excited to be involved because of the great effect that this issue has on our business and Team Members. Our Team Members are the most important asset that we have, and there are dozens of area teens working in our stores throughout the Jackson area. Many of them are delivery drivers and we are concerned first and foremost for their safety. In fact, we require--and monitor very closely--their 100% use of seat belts while they are at work. We also encourage their seat belt use outside of work within their personal lives for their safety. We will be giving out pizza over the next 2 years and other printed material supporting Teen Seat Belt Awareness. The message that we want to convey is how valuable the lives of teens are to our community and how the use of seat belts is one of the most important resources for protecting those lives. Once again, we greatly appreciate the opportunity to be involved in this coalition."

The American Heart Association has named RPM Pizza a Start! Fit and Friendly Company for 2008. Over the past year Tammy Woods, Benefits and Risk Management Specialist has initiated several programs within RPM Pizza to encourage our Team Members to lose weight, eat healthier, and become more active. Becoming healthier is not a program it is a lifestyle change. We hope that by offering programs to our team it will help them live healthier, happier lifestyles. Ready...Set…..Walk!
In 2007 the AMA’s Start! program was launched to encourage companies to get their employees to become more physically active and focus on living healthier through walking. In order to recognize the hard work and achievements of certain “Fit Friendly Companies” the AMA has awarded companies, Gold and Platinum status depending on the programs and achievements within each company. In the September 2009 Fortune Magazine edition RPM Pizza is one of only 900 nationally chosen companies to achieve this award and one of only three in the state of Mississippi.
Owners Glenn, Richard, Jr. and Richard, III Mueller implemented the first RPM Pizza, LLC “Biggest Loser Challenge” in May of 2008 with a company goal to lose 2000 lbs in 2008. THREE WORLD RECORDS BROKEN IN ONE DAY!

A lot of hard work and preparation occurred prior to, during and after August 2nd, which will now go down in history and remembered as the day RPM Pizza beat two Australian records and the current Guinness World Records (TM). The excitement, exhilaration, tiredness, stress was felt throughout the day as the team worked nonstop, for some over 12 hours.
RPM Pizza now holds the new world record for number of pizzas sold in one day out of one store of 8,125 and the current record for most pizzas sold in a half hour is now 518!!! RPM Pizza achieves victory over Team Australia by breaking their current world record of 5,382 pizzas sold out of one store in one day and 501 pizzas made in a half hour.
To further the excitement of the day GM Donnie Rush unofficially breaks the current Gusiness Book of Records™ by making 148 pizzas in an hour. The current record of 93 set by an individual pizza owner in Maryland.
“What a Rush” Donnie expresses. He arrived at the store expecting some relaxation before he was to attempt to break the individual record but what he got instead was pure craziness. He and his family arrived at 10:30am and Donnie immediately had to jump on the dough table and worked right through his scheduled world record-setting time frame. His time was pushed back and rescheduled for 8pm that night.
“The day was no longer was a day of selling pizzas,” Mueller says. “It became an event. The radio station a live remote on-site was so impressed they said they were not leaving until we broke the record. More and more people came.” Many Customers waited for more than 90 minutes, paid for their two pizzas and were thrilled to be a part of the world record.
By noon, an emergency order to the DNC was placed. At 5:10pm the Australian record fell - six hours ahead of RPM Pizza’s original projections. The radio station announced the broken record, police cars blew their sirens and the crowd cheered as the Australian flag was lowered and the U.S. flag raised in its place.
A special thanks to all the Team Members, family and friends that gave their support by buying pizzas or helping RPM Pizza achieve this World Victory!
Community Crime Watch Block Parties
Excitement and fun learning about safety prevailed at our 2005 Community Crime Watch Events. Pictured are people from the community who came out to mingle with law enforcement and other safety organizations on a personal level, learn important safety facts, and have some great pizza from Domino’s and other vendors. Also pictured are our team members who worked these events.
This year’s participation in the events was our largest so far. We were fortunate to be able to participate in 14 locations and also help spread the word company-wide by boxtopping for this event. This helps law enforcement agencies and safety organizations communicate these events to the community.
This year we had pizza trailers and handed out free pizza in Gulfport, Gulfport NCBC, Biloxi, Jackson, Broussard, Lafayette, New Orleans/Kenner, Jackson, Hattiesburg, Alexandria, Lake Charles, Columbia, Houma, Bossier City/Shreveport area and Baton Rouge. We gave away free pizza for all participants. In addition, we handed out cups, coupons, first aid kits, bicycle reflectors and had a drawing for free pizza for a year!
We would like to thank all Team Members who were involved with these events
